For the focally demyelinated subtypes (Fig. 10, second column),
electrotonic potentials are similar, with a small drop to a minimum
amplitude in the 10th node and with a small rise to a maximum
amplitude in the 14th node. There are almost no differences in
electrotonic potentials during and after polarizing current stimuli
for the normal and ALS1 cases (Fig. 10, third column). However,
in the ALS2 case, spontaneous repetitive discharges are observed
in the early part of the depolarizing response and attenuation of
