Modelling the distribution process
5.1 The peripheral space
In this chapter we will discuss some approaches to modelling the distribu-
tion process of a drug. In Chapter 4 we have discussed some of the factors,
including drug properties like its size and how lipophil or soluble the drug is,
that influence how a particular drug becomes distributed in the body. In this
chapter we leave the physiological background aside but want to find ways
to describe the distribution of a given drug in the body, based on only the
information that is given by its plasma profile. We want descriptions that
