About the authors
Joo Chuan graduated with a BSc (Honors) in Computer Science from the School of Computing, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002 and a PhD in Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS in 2007. In 2005, he joined the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) to work on a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded project under Prof Vladimir Brusic. He went on to head the biomedical informatics group at I2R from 2007 to 2012.
