A study of applications of interval arithmetic would somehow be incomplete without
at least mentioning Kaucher arithmetic. It makes use of an extension of conventional
interval arithmetic for closed and bounded intervals of IR which provides more math-
ematical regularity. There are important applications of this extended interval arith-
