Edit mode

The Edit mode is probably the mode that you will spend most of your time on when working with Qt Creator. It's mainly meant for code editing and everything regarding the text-based source files of a Qt project. You can always switch to Edit mode using the Edit button on the right side of the screen, as shown here:
