When a list is long, scrolling can create problems because column headings disappear
when we scroll down. A similar problem occurs when we scroll right to get to some
more columns; initial columns which often carry record identifying information disap-
pear from the view. In such situations, the Freeze feature of Excel comes in handy. This
feature prevents selected rows or columns from disappearing from the Excel window.
To use this feature, we select the cell below and to the right of the rows and columns
we want to freeze, and then click the View tab followed by a click on the Freeze Panes in
