It is easy to see that the table with HLOOKUP function implements a grading scheme
such that if a student scores less than 100, the grade received is “F”. For a score between
100 and 199, the grade received is “D”, and between 200 and 299, it is “C”. Grade “B
is given for scores between 300 and 269 and any score higher than that receives an “A
grade. As this example shows, not only can we do lookup operations through VLOOKUP
and HLOOKUP functions but we can also implement IF type calculations through these
functions.
