No one could have guessed during my EHM years that the Middle East would be the final nail hammered into the coffin of the American empire by China’s third EHM wave.
We did know that for centuries, all the way back to the original Silk Road, the region had been the critical link connecting Africa, Asia, and Europe. Following World War II, given the importance of international trade and the role of petroleum in the modern world, the Middle East became even more essential to global supremacy.
