Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road: Using Structures and Systems to Build Good Conflict

I love driving in foreign countries. It’s an immediate way to gain insight into another culture. It opens the doors to experiences otherwise unavailable.

It’s also little like being in a video game. (Don’t tell the other drivers I feel that way!)

I remember first driving in Nairobi, Kenya. They follow the British system and drive on the left side of the road. It’s a small difference. But it influences nearly every action from there on. All the automatic habits that I’ve built up over the years will now only cause problems. Everything from how the vehicle is set up, to where to look for signs, to how to signal turns.
