SCREWS

Screws are threaded fasteners, often tapered, with a head with a fixture or slot which allows them to be rotated. The helical arrangement of the thread (the corkscrew shape) drives it into the material. The thread is usually right-handed. Screws can usually be withdrawn and reused.
