STEP BY STEP CONSTRUCTING GRC ROCKWORK
Factory-made glass-reinforced concrete (GRC) cast from a real rock face was chosen for this artificial rockwork at the Intercontinental Hotel, Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus because it is more convincing than attempting to create a rock face effect in stone, and a precast product is easier to control in terms of quality. GRC permits fine molding and also a fairly lightweight cladding unit. This approach combines a fairly simple and inexpensive supporting structure (the cast-in-place concrete wall) with a more expensive, factory-quality cladding finish using a composite material (GRC).
