I don’t know about you, but when I’m trying to take new ideas on board, I like to have a sense of the big picture before I get down to the detail. I want to know that there is some point to them; that it is worth making the effort to understand them; and that any new information fits in with, builds on, or possibly challenges what I think I know already.
