Color Harmony & Color Schemes
We’ve covered a lot of ground so far! By now, I am sure you feel more confident with color terminology and color wheels, and I hope that you are experimenting and successfully mixing the paints you already own. Picking color palettes for your next piece may still seem daunting, however.
For that, we have something called “color harmony,” and it enables us to select color combinations, or schemes, that are harmonious and aesthetically pleasing—every single time! Color schemes offer combinations relative to their positions on the color wheel, so it’s a good idea to have one of the color wheels we created in the last section handy. Alternatively, you can also use a commercially available color wheel tool.
