The aim of this paper is the application of human-computer interac-
tion methods to the fieldof passenger information in publictransport.
Appropriate methods are presented in order to analyse the character-
istics and requirements of passenger information systems. Based on
the analysis of users, tasks, environmental context, and systems, a
framework is created for user-oriented development in public trans-
port. This framework includes a set of methods, to analyse passenger
