6.1.1 INTRODUCTION

We have discussed so far about several methods using the principle of conventional holography where it records and reconstructs the 3-D image of an object represented by an optical field distribution itself. In 2005, Mitsuo Takeda et.al[46] has proposed and demonstrated a new type of holography, called coherence holography. In coherence holographic technique, the information of the 3-D image of the object is encoded into the spatial coherence function of the reconstructed optical field.
