APNs
APNs are delivered through HTTP/2, and notifications essentially consist of payloads sent, with a maximum notification payload size of 4 kilobytes.
The APNs then attempt to deliver the payload to the designated devices, although delivery is not always guaranteed. Using a quality of service process of store and forward, the APNs will continue to attempt to redeliver the notification over a limited period of time, in case the device is offline or otherwise unable to receive notifications. If the APN is unable to send the notification successfully, the message will eventually be discarded.
