Despite Spewak’s formative ideas about the importance of business-centric architecture, ratified by NIST, TOGAF and others for the last thirty years, many enterprise architecture and governance (EAG) programs begin as purely IT initiatives, with IT-only executive sponsors and IT-only architects.
