What Causes Conflicts?

Sometimes when conflicts arise it is not because either person is being purposefully aggressive or confrontational. Differing communication styles and motivators can cause conflicts. How can you tell if a conflict is about values or communication style? When a conflict is based on how something is being done, on behaviors, then it is rooted in communication style. When a conflict is about beliefs of what is right or wrong, valuable or having no value, then it is based on values and underlying motivators. (I use the words values and motivators to mean the same thing because what we value is what motivates us.)
