earth elements (REEs), tantalum, and tungsten. Table4.4 summarizes the produc-
tion and demand for the common metals used in production of EEE. Although
these are average values based on a number of assumptions, it would seem that
recovery from WEEE could supply approximately 30% of the annual produc-
tion for silver and the plantinum group elements (especially palladium); and for
just under 20% of the demand for antimony, cadmium, gold, and tin. Looked at
