DFSMSrmm during inventory management after the merge.
Data set record
A data set record exists for each volume on which the related data set has been
written. Each record is uniquely identified by the volser and physical file number
of the data set. Remember that it is perfectly acceptable to have multiple tapes all
containing the same data set (unlike DASD data sets where you generally would
try to avoid having the same data set name on more than one volume).
When merging CDSs, you want to be sure that there are no duplicate records
