When Sun first conceived of JSF, it counted on a vibrant open source community to help drive innovation. Although it took longer than expected, that is exactly what happened with the advent of projects such as Apache Shale, JBoss Seam, and Facelets. Those open source projectsâalong with other projects based on JSF, such as AjaxFacesânot only provide immediate benefit for JSF developers, but are also shaping JSFâs future.
