Rather than the traditional view of corporate investigations as a form of privatization of public policing, this chapter applies the perspective of alternative policing where there is a shift from the public sphere toward the private sphere across the policing landscape. The chapter addresses the following research question: What characteristics can be identified among corporate investigators who conduct alternative policing of financial crime?
