THE CRASH OF 2008 is now over a decade back in our rearview mirror. Much has happened since then. This chapter will survey several postcrash scandals: in particular, Volkswagen, General Motors, Boeing, and the opioid crisis have attracted national attention. Alone, the opioid crisis shows U.S. Attorneys sometimes behaving in a new fashion that stresses individual accountability (and that is a very recent development).
