JPMorgan Chase & Co. is the result of the merger that took place at the end of 2000 between JPMorgan & Co. and Chase Manhattan, the former Bank of Manhattan, founded by David Rockefeller. The merger created the largest US bank and sixth largest in the world, with a market capitalization in December 2017 of US$ 306 billion and which manages assets above US$ 2 trillion worldwide (Smartasset, 2019).
