Summary

We have done a tremendous amount of work in this chapter! We have:

  • Created a PHP framework from scratch to handle web requests
  • Added functionality for clean URLs, route variables, HTTP method support, a simple view and layout engine, and a system to display public files such as stylesheets, JavaScript, and images
  • Tested each part our framework with our browser to make sure we could access our changes
  • Published our code to GitHub so that we can see our changes and manage our code

Get ready! In the next chapter, we're going to dive headfirst into connecting our newly created application to CouchDB.
