Clarity is a superpower.
Clarity is defined as the “quality or state of being clear,” according to Merriam‐Webster, and the definition of clear is “free from obscurity or ambiguity: easily understood.”1
It's the birthplace of confidence.
When we don't have it, we worry, we feel frustrated, and doubt overwhelms us. I believe that is why many women struggle in their careers and leadership.
I don't know about you, but when I am clear about something it's hard to change my mind. Getting to a place of clarity can be frustrating and emotionally draining. It requires us to stop seeking answers externally and instead pursue the answers internally. This is especially hard for us as women because we are made to feel that our intuition cannot and shouldn't be trusted and our voice is not valued. We are rarely ever asked what we think or want and on the rare occasion that we are asked, our answers are dismissed, overlooked, ignored, taken, or twisted.
The interesting thing about clarity is that sometimes we do know exactly what we want, but what hinders us is that we don't believe we are worthy or enough for what we desire, and the last thing we want is confirmation of that belief.
