As strange as it may sound, there isn’t a clear definition of an experienced nurse. Some say that after six months as a practicing nurse you are no longer a new grad, but six months is really not a lot of experience. And experience doing what? Is five years of experience as a nurse in a nursing home equivalent to five years of experience working on a medical surgical unit? Is five years of experience working in an urgent care center equivalent to five years working in an intensive care unit? Probably not.
