HAVE YOU EVER found yourself drawn to a particular image without being able to describe exactly why it’s holding your gaze? Chances are, it had something to do with the color. This chapter is all about making the colors pop in order to lure viewers into your image and then hold their attention. Color is a complex topic with literally hundreds of enhancement possibilities. In this chapter, we’ll look at what Lightroom has to offer, starting with global adjustments that apply to the entire image. Then we’ll explore a few selective adjustments that will apply to isolated areas. Finally, we’ll jump over to Photoshop to hone in on more specialized techniques that are beyond Lightroom’s capabilities.
