Life After Ph.D.

When we were young, becoming a professor seemed to be the ideal thing to do. You become a teacher with your graduate students. You have summer and winter breaks. You get to go to different places for conferences. On top of all this, you are admired by many. In fact, this picture is only partially true. In this chapter, we try to demystify the life of a professor, and give readers a realistic picture of life after Ph.D.
