Teams that want to avoid Groupthink (and who doesn't?) should strive for an open climate by:
Establishing norms that encourage free and open discussion, risk-taking, rewarding “good tries,” accepting alternative points of view and withholding judgment on new ideas.
Prior to key decisions have team members collect input from a wide range of resources and encourage the exploration of a wide range of alternatives.
Encourage all members to feel free to challenge the thinking of the group and its decisions ...
