Some real estate careers don’t end until the central character finally is forced to exit from the scene.
Maybe such characters just love the work too much to quit. Maybe they have achieved a comfortable lifestyle—good income from the properties, and minimal need for active oversight—and there’s no compelling reason to make a change. If so, more power to them.
Some real estate careers wind up with the central players cashing out and turning their attention to entirely different activities. This isn’t unique to real estate, of course; entrepreneurs in all kinds of businesses choose to leave their enterprises behind.
