5.3. Creating a Graphical Skin with Fireworks
If you’re familiar with Fireworks, you know it’s an editor that exports bitmap graphics. Fireworks is different from other bitmap-based editors such as Photoshop because you can create artwork that can be manipulated like vector artwork, but becomes rasterized when exported for production usage. In this exercise, you will learn how to create skins for Flex using Fireworks.
Similar to Flash and Illustrator, you have the ability in Fireworks to create symbols. However, these symbols are used more for repurposing artwork and doing interface mockups than for exporting skin artwork.
