10Research Design Machine Maintenance Management Software Module for Garment Industry

Abstract

This study has researched and proposed a maintenance management process for garment industry machines to support digital transformation and the design of smart garment factories. This process helps to improve the effectiveness of machine maintenance management, increase machine readiness, and avoid waste and risks for the business. A management software module called “Garment Machine Maintenance” has been designed on MS Access, allowing for updating information, notification reminders, searching, and generating reports and statistics on machine maintenance within the garment business.

10.1 Introduction

Maintenance requires attention during the operation and use of machines. This is because an effective maintenance process will enhance the reliability of machinery, ensuring uninterrupted and efficient production activities while avoiding waste and risks to the business [1]. The primary objective of machine maintenance is to preserve functionality and enhance efficiency. Maintenance activities were conducted throughout the operational lifespan of the machines.
