I’ve always been told to use the absolute best materials to paint with that I could afford, and I have, sometimes sacrificing to be able to afford the best. You can’t go wrong if you purchase and use supplies that are designed for the art trade. However, recently I have become interested in breaking out of the rut of repeating the same kind of technical strokes that very well-tailored brushes make.
