Explore Color in a Series of Paintings

One of my approaches to being stuck is to break out and do something completely different, something opposite my norm, in some creative way.

I tend to pick a color theme and follow it for a year at a time or longer. I paint it until I no longer see the object associated with the color, and the color simply becomes a shape. I once started with yellow pansies growing in a pot in my garden and became enchanted with yellow. I painted a series of yellow pansies and then went on to paint the yellow lemons from my lemon trees.
