Artists are sometimes hesitant to begin because the planning process can be so intimidating. Using acrylics allows me to set down rapid impressions without worrying about where I’m going. There’s no need to work out a composition ahead of time, no need to make a lot of thumbnail sketches or to make a drawing first. The acrylic medium is utterly forgiving and allows restructuring all or part of the composition every time I change direction.
