Carol Wiebe’s hand-painted journal
I took my sweet time putting free-form crochet edges on my quilted paper journal. To me, that gives the pages the look of deckled edges. I just happened to deckle them on all four sides (a little obsessive, perhaps).
I also started painting the first few pages. They are nowhere near complete, but I am observing as I play with the paint, waiting for direction to emerge. I did think about calling my art journal “Willing” and putting in some of the haiku I’ve been writing since that casual suggestion was made a lesson or two ago:
Trees know how to reach
I will reach out like they do
