My art career began the day I drew my first stick figure. Mom declared me an artist and it stuck. She did a lot of art. I loved it when she drew with us. I think I learned how to draw because I couldn’t stay in the lines of the coloring books, so I drew my own lines. When I was five Mom became the town librarian. I went to the library after school and became a voracious reader. I loved the bookmobile. Driving around taking books to people was the coolest job in the world.
