Not all anger is bad. For example anger can lead to civil rights protests and movements in which collective anger is channelled to change society for the better, and in psychotherapy and counselling sessions, anger can be used to channel the strength needed to deal with depression or other negative emotions. We have the emotion of anger for a reason; because it is useful to us.

But that said, many people feel they have too much anger in their lives, and this can easily happen because expressing a little anger does have a tendency to lead to more. For example, after telling off one of my children recently for being very naughty, I caught myself still being harsh to my wife when I spoke to her immediately afterwards (and had to apologise), because the anger behind the telling off I gave was still in my system. Uncaught this could have led to me being cross for much longer than necessary.
