Conducting a Site Survey
In this chapter, you will learn about

• Observing and documenting site conditions
• Interpreting blueprints, site plans, and computer-aided design (CAD) drawings
• Calculating areas and volumes of installation spaces
Visiting the client site is a key step in the audiovisual (AV) system design and installation process. A site survey is your opportunity to meet with clients, discuss their AV support needs, and review the characteristics of the various locations where AV systems will be installed.
