Your First Custom Task Using Visual Basic Express

Follow these steps to create a custom task using .NET as your programming language. After each step, the project should build without errors. To build the project, select Build Solution from the Build menu (or use the keyboard shortcut by holding down the CTRL and SHIFT keys and clicking B).

Creating the Project

Here are the steps to create a basic custom task:

  1. Open Visual Basic.
  2. Select File→New Project. In the New Project dialog box, select Class Library. For the project name, enter BasicStatsVB. Uncheck the Create directory for solution check box. Click OK. The project is created in your My Documents area.
  3. Select File→Save All.
