Creating New Custom Tasks Using Project Templates

Regardless of the SAS Enterprise Guide version or preferred programming language, using a template is simple. Select the menus in Microsoft Visual Studio to create a new project, select the template for the type of custom task that you want to create, click a few buttons, and you're done.

The result is a shell of a project that contains a valid custom task that is ready to build and run. Of course, the task won't do much of anything, yet. But, at least the templates get your project in a solid and valid state—a great beginning for your work.
