There is always an element of collage in LA-based artist Drew Beckmeyer’s work – sometimes it’s a tiny part, other times the entire piece will be formed of collage. Beckmeyer’s beautifully dense pieces form complex landscapes, which are becoming ‘a lot more crowded, with less white space, less clarity of imagery and narrative point’. He uses his own work as the basis for his collages, and has been careful to retain his diverse and experimental approach to media and composition.
