ANDY DUCETT
There’s a nostalgic, almost retro feel to many of Andy DuCett’s gentle collages, which are created from cuttings from newspapers and magazines from the fifties and sixties, receipts, cast-offs, clip art annuals, maps and photographs. His downtown location has continually provided him with a rich source of material: ‘My studio is on a back alley in south Minneapolis, perfect for dumpster diving.’ DuCett often combines just two elements in his work, both of which are still completely recognizable, enjoying how ‘two or more materials can come together and make new meaning without necessarily erasing their original intent.’ In an increasingly ...
