Birds of prey, kittens, body parts, owl masks, Indian squaws – it’s all fair game as far as French collage artist Théo Mercier is concerned. Is there any method in this Surrealist-inspired madness? It’s obvious there is, but he’s not letting on. As well as collages, Mercier creates largescale sculptural pieces and installations, which he also photographs: ‘I like the idea of a dialogue between media. I tell a lot of stories about objects and spaces with photography.
