One of the best and most concise history books on Argentina is Argentina 1516 to 1987 (David Rock, University of California Press, 1985). Alternatively try A History of Argentina in the Twentieth Century (Luis Alberto Romero, Pennsylvania State University, 2002).

You will find no shortage of books on Juan Domingo Perón and his wife Evita. Try Juan and Eva Perón (Clive Foss, The History Press, 2006) or Evita: The Real Life of Eva Perón (Nicholas Fraser and Marysa Navarro, W.Norton and Co, 1996).
