Introduction to data analysis
Abstract
Statistics is used to study the collection, analysis and interpretation of data. The process can be illustrated as the collection of data, exploratory data analysis, the application of probability and random numbers to the data, followed by inference which relates the analysis of the subset of data collected to the entire set of data. This chapter discusses data collection and exploratory data analysis with an emphasis on visualizations as they pertain to cybersecurity data.
