The architecture of a space system can be quite complex. There are issues of ownership and classification of data within ownership boundaries. Additionally, segmentation requirements, heterogeneous communications modes and other architectural concerns further complicate matters. In this chapter we will explore a particularly complicated space system example to highlight the issues posed by design and implementation of system architectures.
