The motivation and professional satisfaction of employees in their work environment is one of the most critical issues of modern administrations as it is inextricably linked to their efficiency and effectiveness and therefore to the viability of companies/organizations. These two determinants are critical, on the one hand, to the emotional and psychological state of the employees and, on the other hand, to the proper functioning of a company or an organization. The purpose of this chapter is to study the motivating factors that affect the job satisfaction of primary health care doctors and nurses.
This chapter begins by listing the basic theoretical approaches to job satisfaction and motivation and the key factors influencing these variables. It turns out that supervision, camaraderie and the nature of the work play a key role in contrast to the lower pay and operating conditions. In the scales of motivation, the highest average is presented by the characteristics of the work and colleagues, while the lowest percentage is displayed by the scale of successes. In between, the scale of colleagues and earnings is recorded.
