Initial Data Tables and Variable Distributions

Baseline Characteristics

The purpose of these analyses is to ensure that an equal distribution in demographic characteristics was achieved in the four treatment groups. Comparison of the baseline characteristics between the two treatment groups will use standard parametric and nonparametric statistical techniques, such as the Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test for categorical data and the t-test and Wilcoxon rank sum test for continuous data. If differences are found, the final analysis will be adjusted by the baseline characteristic as appropriate.
